RCMP Lynn Lake Detachment, with the assistance of RCMP Winnipeg and Thompson Major Crime Services and the RCMP Dauphin and Thompson Forensic Identification Section are currently investigating the homicide of a 49-year-old male.
RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the town of Lynn Lake, MB. in the early morning hours of July 5, 2009.
The deceased Kenneth Dennis Hrechka of Lynn Lake, Manitoba was taken to Lynn Lake Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
42 year old Anna Louise Shortt of Lynn Lake, Manitoba has been arrested and charged with manslaughter. She will be appearing in Thompson Provincial Court on Tuesday July 7th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
A post mortem will be performed at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, the investigation is continuing.
