After three days of advance voting, approximately 36,800 Manitobans have cast their ballots in the 2016 provincial election. This compares to 30,335 votes cast over the first three days of advance voting in the 2011 election. Advance voting continues until this Saturday, April 16.
Advance voting is available for any eligible voter who would like to vote before election day next Tuesday. They do not have to vote within their electoral division and they can vote at any advance voting location. Voters do not need a reason to vote in advance.
Advance voting locations are open daily at the returning office in each electoral division and in various other locations. The Elections Manitoba website has a full list of locations and dates. Advance voting locations are open from 8am to 8pm, but not all advance locations are open every day.
Voters must show government-issued photo identification (such as a driver’s licence) or two other documents with their name. Parents are invited to bring their children with them when they vote.
