On April 14, 2016, members of “D” Division Traffic Services conducted a distracted driving initiative in Steinbach and surrounding areas.
RCMP report that 20 people were charged with distracted driving between the hours of 9am and 2pm on April 14. Police say that most charges were a result of using a cellular phone contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
Steinbach RCMP would like to remind residents that local officers, along with “D” Division Traffic Services are working together to keep streets and citizens safer.
