April 19, 2016, is election day in Manitoba and all voting places are open today from 7am to 8pm.
Manitobans are eligible to vote if they are 18 or older, Canadian citizens, and have lived in the province for at least six months. Even if they were not enumerated, they can still vote as long as they bring government-issued photo ID or two other documents with their name.
Many accessibility options are available at voting places, including curbside voting, Braille candidate lists, Braille ballot templates, and magnifying rulers. Voters may also bring someone along to help them vote or a voting officer may provide assistance.
Children are invited to accompany their parents to the voting places. Each child will receive an “Official Future Voter” sticker while voters will receive an “I Voted” sticker.
For more information about voting options and where to vote, eligible voters should check their enumeration record, contact their returning officer, visit the Elections Manitoba website.
