On April 25, 2016 at approximately 2pm, Norway House RCMP responded to an assault of an adult female on PTH 373, near Pine Creek.
Police say that passers-by had discovered a 52-year-old woman sitting on the side of the road near her vehicle, with visible upper body injuries. Initial investigation revealed that while driving through the area, the victim had been flagged down by a female with a young child. When she got out of her vehicle to assist, she was attacked from behind by a larger male. The victim managed to free herself at which point the attacker, along with the female and child, fled in a mid-size red or burgundy vehicle.
RCMP report that the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police do not believe this was a random attack, but that the victim was targeted. If anyone has any information regarding this case, please contact Norway House RCMP at 204-359-6716.
