On May 2, 2016, shortly after 5pm, Dauphin RCMP received a report of a break and enter from a property in the west end of Dauphin, Manitoba.

Initial police investigation revealed that the break-in occurred between 1pm and 5pm. The unknown suspects stole 13 firearms in total, both pistols and rifles. A large metal gun safe was also removed from the house.

The investigation so far has not identified potential suspects or recovered any of the stolen firearms but investigators believe the items were specifically targeted.

“For obvious safety reasons, we are concerned anytime firearms are stolen and end up in the hands of criminals,” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “We ask that anyone with information about this theft contact their police service immediately.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) is assisting the ongoing investigation.
