Steinbach RCMP would like to warn the public about a recent phone fraud involving someone claiming to be the Canadian Police Association.
Police say that several local residents have received phone calls from a fraudster purporting to represent the Canadian Police Association in an effort to solicit funds. The caller is reported to use high pressure sales tactics.
RCMP would like to warn the public that this is a fraud and to just hang up the phone. The Canadian Police Association and/or the RCMP do not call individuals to solicit for funds.
