On May 31, 2016 at approximately 8am, Oakbank RCMP received the report of a serious collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Road 40E and 79N, in the RM of Brokenhead.
Initial police investigation has confirmed that an eastbound pickup truck collided with the passenger side of a southbound SUV at the intersection.
RCMP report that the female driver and lone occupant of the pickup truck suffered non life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV, a local 44-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident. A traffic analyst is assisting the ongoing investigation.
