The Steinbach RCMP Advisory Committee will be conducting the 2nd annual Traffic Safety Day in Steinbach today and will be focusing on stopping at stop signs.
The theme of this year’s Safety Day is “I don’t slow down, I stop”. Officers will be handing out coupons to drivers who stop properly. The coupons have been provided by McDonald’s, Dairy Queen and A&W in conjunction with the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce.
Different than last year, RCMP will be tracking the number of drivers who stop versus not coming to a complete stop. RCMP officers will be located at various intersections in Steinbach and are putting the important message out there that stop signs mean stop.
Traffic rules should be followed at all times, but today Steinbach RCMP will be rewarding motorists for fully stopping at random stop sign intersections around the city.
