On June 16, 2016, at approximately 10am, Russell RCMP received a report of a serious collision involving two vehicles on Highway 83, approximately 15 kilometres north of Russell, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation has revealed that a northbound car crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a large truck carrying concrete blocks. The lone occupant and driver of the car, a 57-year-old Roblin man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident. A traffic analyst is assisting the ongoing investigation.
