On June 18, 2016, at approximately 5:15am, Portage la Prairie RCMP were dispatched to a local convenience store that had been robbed.
Police investigation revealed that two suspects robbed the store of cash. Once robbed, a male in a red hoodie used bear mace on the store employee. Both suspects then fled the scene on foot.
RCMP report that a police dog was deployed in an effort to track down the suspects but was unsuccessful.
The first suspect is described as male, aboriginal in appearance, approximately 5’6″ tall, weighs 145 lbs, is between 15-18 years age, has brown eyes, dark brown hair and was wearing a black hoodie. The second suspect is described as male, aboriginal in appearance, approximately 5’7″ tall, skinny, has a tattoo around his right eye (three grim reaper blade shapes with detail under the eye), and was wearing a red hoodie.
