On July 10, 2016, at approximately 10:30pm, Selkirk RCMP officers received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 59, just south of the Grand Beach junction.
Initial police investigation revealed that a southbound SUV rolled over after losing control. As a result of the rollover, both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Police say that a 40-year-old Winnipeg man was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 28- year-old Winnipeg woman was transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition with non life threatening injuries.
RCMP report that alcohol is being considered as a contributing factor in this incident. The investigation continues with the assistance of a traffic analyst.
