On July 17, 2016, at approximately 8pm, Morris RCMP received a call reporting a possible homicide at an apartment located on Caron Street in Saint Jean Baptiste, Manitoba.
Based on the information received, Morris RCMP officers immediately attended the apartment and discovered the deceased body of a 54-year-old female resident.
Police say that Danny Vanoosten, a 56-year-old St. Jean Baptiste man, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with second degree murder. The investigation has revealed that the victim was known to the accused.
RCMP report that Danny Vanoosten remains in custody as the investigation continues. Resources from the Serious and Major Crimes Units and Forensic Identification Services continue to assist with the ongoing investigation.
