Steinbach RCMP were busy this past weekend, arresting four impaired drivers in the Steinbach and Richer areas.
On July 22, 2016, at 6:59 pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a complaint of an impaired driver in the area of Richer. Police located a vehicle located in the ditch on Dawson Road and subsequently arrested a 37-year-old Winnipeg man who will be facing numerous charges including driving without a licence and driving an unregistered vehicle.
On the same day at 10:29pm, Steinbach RCMP, while on patrol, observed a vehicle leaving a drinking establishment on Highway 52. Subsequent checks revealed that the driver, a 47-year-old male resident of La Broquerie, was intoxicated. He is facing impaired driving charges. At 2:06am, Steinbach RCMP Members observed a vehicle driving erratically on Main Street in Steinbach. As a result, police arrested a 22-year-old male resident of Ste. Anne and charged him with impaired driving.
On July 24, 2016, at 2:10am, Steinbach RCMP administered an alcohol screen device to a 27-year-old Mitchell resident, who registered a “Warn” on the device. Police issued a 72 hour driver’s licence suspension in this incident.
