On July 26, 2016 at approximately 9am, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP received the report of a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Highway 5 near the junction of PR 50, inside the RM of McCreary, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation has revealed that a southbound car on Highway 5, crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a semi tractor-trailer unit.
Police say that the lone occupant and driver of the car, a 51-year-old male from Toronto, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck did not suffer serious injuries.
RCMP report that a collision reconstructionist is assisting the ongoing investigation in order to establish the contributing factors to this collision.
