A 23-year-old Settlement of Crane River male has been arrested as a result of an ongoing murder investigation early this week.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP Detachment, with the assistance of Winnipeg, Dauphin and Brandon Major Crime Units, theĀ RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the Dauphin Forensic Identification Section are currently investigating the homicide of a 20-year-old woman after responding to a report of an unresponsive person at a residence in the Settlement of Crane River just before noon of July 12, 2009.
Emergency Medical Services were dispatched and transported the victim to Saint Rose General Hospital in Ste Rose du Lac where she was pronounced deceased on arrival.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Natasha Linda Moar of the Settlement of Crane River.
An autopsy was performed in Winnipeg at the Health Sciences Center on July 13th and the cause of death was determined to be a result of blunt force trauma.
On July 12th, 23-year-old Leslie Grant McDonald of the Settlement of Crane River was been arrested and has since been charged with manslaughter. He will be appearing in Dauphin Provincial Court on Tuesday July 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
Leslie McDonald and Natasha Moar were in a relationship at the time of the murder.
The investigation is continuing.
