Human remains have positively identified, from dental records, as those of Bernard Carlo Hart who was reported missing earlier this month.
Thompson RCMP were contacted by members of a civilian search team, on July 8, 2009, that skeletal remains had been found in a wooded area just off a hydro power line east of Thompson.
The area was secured for further investigation by members of the Thompson RCMP Forensic Identification Section, along with a team of forensic anthropologists from the Heritage Branch of the Provincial Government.
A post mortem took place in Winnipeg on July 14th, and the remains were positively identified on July 16th, from dental records, as those of Bernard Carlo Hart.
The cause of death is undetermined and RCMP are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
Any one with any information pertaining to Bernard Hart’s whereabouts and activities in early June is asked to contact Thompson RCMP Detachment at 204-677-6909.
