A truck was used to smash through the perimeter fence of the compound.

The Elphinstone RCMP Detachment is currently investigating several break and enters and thefts in the area.

On November 24, 2008 the Elphinstone RCMP Detachment responded to a burglary alarm at the Warden’s Compound in Riding Mountain National Park. Investigation has revealed that the suspect(s) used a truck to smash through the perimeter fence of the compound. Once inside the suspect(s) entered the Warden’s Office building as well as several out buildings. Stolen from the compound were chain saws and some jerri cans.

On the same night several sheds and garages were broken into in Sandy Lake, MB. Firearms along with several other items were stolen. In addition a truck was stolen from Parkwood Auto in Erickson, MB. The truck has since been recovered.

The Elphinstone RCMP is asking for the publics assistance to solve this crime. The person in the picture is of interest to police.  If you have any information you can contact the Elphinstone RCMP Detachment at (204)625-2090 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers.
