Just after 1pm on July 17, 2009, the Dauphin RCMP received a report that some youths were shooting a pellet gun in the area of 2nd Avenue N.E. and that a man had been hit.
Officers attended the scene and determined the shots had been from inside a home into a nearby parking lot. Investigators determined that a man standing in the parking lot had been hit by a pellet fired from a second floor window in the house adjacent to the parking lot.
A 17-year-old Dauphin youth was arrested and has been charged with a number of criminal charges including assault With a weapon, mischief and discharging an air gun With intent to Wound.
The boy was remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin court July 20, 2009.
Investigators determined that a number of vehicles in the parking lot had been damaged from being hit with pellets. A pellet rifle was seized by investigators.
The man who was hit by the pellet was not seriously injured.
The investigation continues.
