On July 30, 2009, at 10:55am, RCMP in Oxford House were called to a residence to investigate a complaint of an assault with a weapon.

Two males were involved in a heated argument when one of the males produced a fist-sized “rock in a sock,” striking the other man across the forehead.

The victim was transported to the Oxford House nursing station and subsequently medi-vaced to the Thompson General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The accused fled the scene but was arrested later the same day by the RCMP.

19-year-old Rodrigo Okemow has been charged with assault with a weapon and remanded into custody.  Okemow was also wanted by the RCMP for his involvement in a home invasion that occurred on July 23, 2009 in Oxford House. In that incident he and another male, wielding a knife, forced their way into a residence and attacked the occupants who were asleep.

Rodrigo Okemow has been charged and remanded into custody for break and enter, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and mischief to property.
