On August 12, 2009, shortly after 3:30am, RCMP Headingley Detachment were dispatched to an armed robbery at Arboc Smoke Shop, located on Highway 1 in the RM of Headingley.

Several suspects entered the business and armed with a firearm, assaulted an employee and stole cash and approximately $25,000 worth of various brands of cigarettes and tobacco. The suspects fled the scene in a dark colored van towards Winnipeg.

The culprits are described as native in appearance, wearing jeans. One culprit is described as having a white hoodie while another had a hoodie with a decal with feathers hanging on it. One was wearing a dark color jacket. At least 4 male individuals appear to have been involved in the robbery.

Although both RCMP Portage Detachment and Winnipeg Police Service were readily notified, the culprits remain at large. RCMP Headingley Detachment continue to investigate assisted by the RCMP Winnipeg Major Crime Unit and Winnipeg Forensic Identification Services.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If anyone has any information on this robbery, they are asked to call the RCMP Headingley Detachment at (204) 831-5929 or their local police department.
