On August 13, 2009 at approximately 7am, Bloodvein RCMP Detachment were dispatched to a complaint of a person lying along side a road on Bloodvein First Nation.
Upon arrival, police found a deceased male. RCMP are have identified the deceased as 20-year-old Joshua Fisher of Bloodvein First Nation.
An autopsy is scheduled today at the St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg.
This matter is being investigated as a homicide. Police have an adult male, also a resident of Bloodvein First Nation, in custody but no charges have been laid.
Members of the RCMP Major Crime Services, Winnipeg Forensic Identification Services and members of Bloodvein RCMP Detachment continue to investigate.

On August 14, 2009 an autopsy was completed at the St. Boniface Hospital and revealed that Joshua Fisher died as a result of blunt force trauma.
20-year-old Charles Orvis of Bloodvein has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and will be appearing in a Winnipeg Court on Monday, August 17, 2009.
Members of the RCMP Major Crime Services, RCMP Winnipeg Forensic Identification Services and members of Bloodvein RCMP Detachment continue to investigate.
