This weekend will see the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup make it’s only stop on Canadian soil for the Mosport Grand Prix, just outside of Toronto.
Canadian race car driver, David Richert, is looking to show well at his home event. This will be Richert’s second time to one of Canada’s oldest permanent road courses and he hopes to be competing at the front of the field stating “This is one of those weekends where nothing else matters but THIS weekend. There’s nothing to save from here on out so I expect to leave everything on the track”.
Things could get interesting on track as the forecast for this weekend looks very wet for the Bowmanville, Ontario, region. Rain is expected all day Saturday so it could be a soggy practice and qualifying for the Jetta TDI Cup. With a further chance of rain on Sunday and the race taking place at 8.30am, chance are very likely that the circuit will be pretty damp for Round 7 of the 10 race series.
The Mosport Grand Prix will also boast the largest amount of guests to see Richert race in person as a great crew of supporters will be making their way to the event. “It’s going to be a thrill having so many of my sponsors and friends attending this race, it can only help to make me faster on the track” states Richert.
