On August 26, 2009 at about 7am, RCMP Pukatawagan Detachment responded to a complaint of an injured male at a residence within the community of Pukatawagan.
Upon arrival at the residence, RCMP and local EMS personnel discovered 26-year-old Patrick Bighetty, a resident of Pukatawagan, deceased inside the residence. His death has been determined to be a homicide.
Two men, respectively 23 and 25-years-old, also residents of Pukatawagan, have been arrested and are currently in custody at the RCMP Pukatawagan Detachment.
An autopsy is presently underway at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg.
The investigation continues with the assistance of the RCMP Serious Crime and Major Crime Units, as well as the Winnipeg RCMP Forensic Identification Section.
No charges have been laid as of yet.

Donald Wayne Colomb, 25-years-old, and Benjamin Melvin Dumas, 23-years-old, have both been charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of Patrick Bighetty. Both are scheduled to appear in The Pas Provincial Court, on Monday, August 31, 2009, at 10am.
