On December 29th, 2008 at approximately 4:10am, Thompson RCMP received a report that a taxi cab driver was being robbed in the Eastwood area.

Thompson RCMP immediately attended and determined that the driver had been robbed at knife-point. The driver was unharmed. The male suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The ensuing police investigation led to the December 31st arrest of Ashley Peter John Clipping, age 21, of Thompson. He has since been charged with robbery, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.

Ashley Peter John Clipping has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court, Thompson, Manitoba on January 2, 2009.
