As of recent, the Steinbach RCMP have responded to a significant increase in reported vehicle thefts and attempted vehicle thefts within Steinbach and the surrounding area.
To prevent your vehicle from becoming subject to these occurrences, the RCMP are encouraging vehicle owners to take these simple precautionary measures:
• do not leave the ignition keys in your vehicle
• lock your vehicle doors
• remove any visible valuables from within the vehicle
• utilize the vehicle alarm system if equipped.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance with these matters, and encourage the public to contact the Steinbach RCMP in the event that suspicious persons or vehicles are seen in your neighbourhood.
