At about 6:30 pm on September 12, 2009, Manitou RCMP were called to a quad accident on a farm 1 mile west of Manitou in the Rural Municipality of Pembina.

A male was found pinned under his overturned quad on his farm property. 

The driver, an 80-year-old man from the Manitou area, was alone and out checking his crops earlier in the day and did not return at the usual time. Family later located him and notified RCMP. 

The driver was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a factor.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene on the property were he lived all his life.

This incident is still under investigation by the Manitou RCMP.
