As a result of an investigation conducted by the RCMP Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, a 50-year-old male, from Moosehorn, Manitoba, was arrested for importing and possession of child pornography on September 17, 2009, in Ashern.
The ICE Unit, with the assistance of Winnipeg Major Crime Unit, ‘D’ Division Technological Crime Unit, as well as Lundar and Ashern RCMP Detachments, subsequently executed three search warrants at two residences in the communities of Ashern and Moosehorn. As a result of the search warrants, the local area man is now additionally under investigation for accessing child pornography.
The male individual was released on a promise to appear and an undertaking with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Ashern court on November 18, 2009. Formal charges have not been laid as of yet.

Formal charges have now been laid against 50-year-old Rodney William Yankie of Moosehorn for two counts of possessing child pornography, importing child pornography and accessing child pornography. Yankie appeared in Ashern Court on November 18, 2009 and has since been remanded to December 16, 2009 in Ashern.
