On September 23, 2009 at 2pm, RCMP Carman Detachment along with the Carman Fire Department attended the scene of a collision at the junction of Highway 13 and 305.

It was learned that a potato truck traveling northbound on Highway 13 proceeded to slow down and make a westbound (left) turn onto Highway 305. The potato truck was followed by a tractor trailer hauling some type of machinery, when another tanker truck carrying corn distiller collided with the potato truck. Both trucks landed in the west ditch, struck and knocked down a hydro pole causing an immediate hazard.

All three trucks were traveling northbound at the time of the collision.

The two drivers (potato truck and corn distiller) have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was not injured.

Some diesel fuel and corn distiller spilled at the scene. The matter is being assessed for potential environment hazard.
