On October 24, 2009 at 1:45am, RCMP The Pas Detachment were dispatched to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex on Larose Avenue in The Pas.
RCMP arrived on scene along with local EMS and found an adult man, believed to be from northern Manitoba, not breathing. CPR was initiated to no avail and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another adult male believed to be from The Pas was also found in the nearby area suffering from injuries. He has since been medivaced to the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre and is reported in stable condition.
At present, RCMP The Pas Detachment, assisted by the RCMP Opaskwayak Cree Nation Detachment, the RCMP The Pas and Winnipeg Forensic Identification Section, the RCMP Major Crime Unit from Thompson and Serious Crime Unit from Winnipeg are providing assistance in this investigation.
One adult male has been taken into custody and no charges have been laid as of yet.
The investigation continues.
