On November 13, 2009, at 5:35pm, Thompson RCMP were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Provincial Road 391, approximately two kilometres north of Thompson, Manitoba.

The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man, from Thompson, was located deceased at the scene. The driver of the northbound vehicle involved in the collision is a 45-year-old man from Thompson.

RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Analyst, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision. Poor visibility may have been a contributing factor.

The name of the victim is not being released at the request of the family and no charges have been laid.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Tommy Ellis of Thompson.
