The 2010 Eco Calendar, featuring measures that can be taken by Manitobans to protect the environment, is now available, Conservation Minister Bill Blaikie announced.
“For the second straight year Manitobans can obtain the popular Eco Calendar,” said Blaikie. “The calendar provides Manitobans with tips for saving money and protecting the environment through sustainable practices.”
The calendar, produced by Green Manitoba in partnership with Manitoba Hydro, Manitoba Conservation, Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth, the City of Winnipeg, Miller Environmental Corporation, Tire Stewardship Manitoba, the Manitoba Association for Resource Recovery Corp. and the Manitoba Education for Sustainable Development Working Group, is available at a wide variety of outlets across the province including Safeway, Sobeys, City of Winnipeg libraries and most Manitoba municipal offices.
“By following the advice found on the calendars, Manitobans can collectively protect the environment and help affect positive change in our communities,” said Blaikie.
Blaikie also reminded Manitobans of the A to Z list that is available on Green Manitoba’s website. The list offers comprehensive tips on how to properly reuse, recycle and dispose of various unwanted items.
