The RM of Tache recently gave third reading to a bylaw specifically designed to control larger farm animals on the loose.

By approving Bylaw 19-2008 the municipality hopes to curtail the problem of large animals and fowl roaming free.

To enforce the bylaw, council agreed to hire Daniel Ross as the municipality’s designated animal control officer. He will be working under a monthly retainer, plus get paid for hourly service on calls, and for mileage.

The RM of Tache also designated the Grunthal Livestock Auction Mart as the municipality’s pound for impounding and caring for large animals or fowl as required.
