On December 3, 2009 at approximately 6:30pm, the Steinbach RCMP detachment responded to a report of pickup truck colliding with a train on Twin Rivers Road in Marchand, Manitoba.

When the police arrived on scene they determined that a north bound GMC truck had struck an east bound train.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old male from Steinbach was transported to the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach where he was treated for minor injuries.

The investigation determined that the driver of the truck was impaired by alcohol. He was taken into custody and then released for a January court date on charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.

The Steinbach RCMP along with the CN Police are still investigating the incident.
