Starting and running a business in the Town of Carman and the Rural Municipality of Dufferin just became easier thanks to BizPaL, a new online business permit and licence service that saves time spent on paperwork and helps entrepreneurs start up faster.
Today, the Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), together with the Honourable Peter Bjornson, Manitoba Minister of Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade, Bob Mitchell, Mayor of Carman, and Shawn McCutcheon, Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Dufferin, welcomed the launch of BizPaL in both Carman and Dufferin, Manitoba.
BizPaL is an innovative service that provides entrepreneurs with simplified access to the information on permits and licences they need to establish and run their businesses. This unique partnership among federal, provincial, territorial, regional and local governments is designed to cut through the paperwork burden and red tape that small business owners encounter. The BizPaL service in Carman and Dufferin was developed by the Town of Carman, the Rural Municipality of Dufferin, the Province of Manitoba and the Government of Canada.
“Through Canada’s Economic Action Plan, our government is helping small businesses by increasing access to financing, lowering taxes and cutting red tape,” said Minister of State Ablonczy. “BizPaL is a great example of our government’s hard work to support small and medium-sized enterprises across Canada as they innovate, create jobs and generate wealth in our communities.”
“By using BizPaL, entrepreneurs will spend less time finding, understanding and complying with regulatory requirements from three levels of government, and more time conducting business,” said Minister Bjornson. “Today’s announcement is another example of our government’s Single Window for Business Initiative, which is working to ensure the business community has access to information and services that will help them be successful.”
“The Town of Carman and the Rural Municipality of Dufferin are pleased to partner with the federal and provincial governments to bring this great business planning tool to assist entrepreneurs with starting their businesses in one easy-to-access location,” said Mayor Mitchell and Reeve McCutcheon.
Area business owners and entrepreneurs can access the service by visiting the Manitoba BizPaL website. Manitoba is looking forward to expanding BizPaL to other areas of the province over the next year.
