Following several reports dating back to September 2009 of stolen property in eastern Manitoba, members of the RCMP Major Crime Unit, RCMP Auto Theft Unit and the St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP Detachment, executed a search warrant on a residence in the Rural Municipality of Tache on December 12, 2009.
At the residence, officers recovered stolen property including 4 snowmobiles, 9 motorcycles, tools and a firearm. The approximate value of the property recovered is estimated at over 40,000 dollars. Items recovered were stolen from communities such as East St. Paul, Lac du Bonnet, St. Pierre Jolys and the City of Winnipeg.
A 19-year-old male of the RM of Tache was arrested at the residence and released on a promise to appear February 19, 2010 in Winnipeg. Formal charges relating to the possession of stolen property as well as weapons offences are pending.
The investigation continues.
