On December 15, 2009, at about 9:30pm, RCMP Gypsumville Detachment were dispatched to a robbery where shots were fired at Cindy’s Smoke Shop on Highway 6, near the Community of Fairford First Nation.
RCMP attended, but the culprit had already fled the area. RCMP learned that the lone male entered the business holding a firearm and demanded money from staff. Shortly after he made his demands, the suspect discharged the firearm while in the business premise. The culprit also pointed the firearm at the clerk who struggled to open the till from the stress of the situation.
The culprit is described as a native male, medium height, medium build and wearing a dark hoodie with his face concealed as well as black pants.
No one was hurt in the incident.
