At 6:30pm on December 22, 2009, Minnedosa and Neepawa RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway 16 and 10 that claimed the life of a 40-year-old Manitoba woman.
A semi-tractor and trailer were traveling westbound on Highway 16 when the tractor trailer lost control on the curve just east of the intersection of Highway 10. The tractor trailer tipped onto it’s side where it skidded into the eastbound lane colliding with a newer model Mazda 3. The trailer and car collided killing the 40-year-old driver. The two other passengers in the eastbound vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer was not injured.
A collision analyst was called to the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow at the Brandon Hospital.
The investigation is continuing and alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
