On December 20, 2009, around 8:15pm, Norway House RCMP received a complaint of a gun shot in the Rossville area of Norway House.
Police attended a residence on Osborne Street and spoke to the residents who told police that a masked male entered the house with a firearm and demanded money from everyone inside. There was some arguing and the suspect discharged the firearm. No one was injured and the suspect left the house with an undisclosed amount of money. Neighbours reported seeing two males running away from the residence. Police were able to locate the first suspect in a nearby house where he was arrested and held in custody. The second suspect was later identified and arrested the following day and held in custody as well.
Walter Chubb, a 21-year-old male from Norway House, has been charged with robbery with a firearm, as well as other firearm related offences and failing to comply with various court orders.
Chubb was remanded to appear in court in Thompson on December 22, 2009. The second suspect is facing similar charges and is being held in custody to appear in court at a later date.
