On December 24, at approximately 11pm, Selkirk RCMP Detachment responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 8, south of Highway 27, that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Winnipeg woman.
The investigation to date has revealed that the Toyota 4-runner, that the female was a passenger in, was traveling south bound on Highway 8. It was noted to pass at least one vehicle, then proceeded to pull back into the right-hand lane. As the SUV pulled back into the lane, the vehicle fish tailed and the driver at this point lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle rolling numerous times.
