On December 28, 2009 at about 9:30 am, RCMP members were called to a the Oxford House First Nation, nursing station after receiving a call of an injured female.
Investigation determined that the female was injured at a residence on Oxford House First Nation. A male youth was arrested a short time later.
The victim has been identified as 14-year-old Marilyn Alicia Agnes Munroe of Oxford House. She was also known by her friends and family as “Molly”.
An autopsy was performed at Health Sciences Centre and indicated that Marilyn “Molly” Munroe died as a result of a stab wound.
A 12-year-old male youth from Oxford House was charged with 2nd degree murder and will be appearing in Thompson Provincial Youth Court on December 31, 2009 at 1:30pm.
