Two Manitoba men have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking after a traffic stop in Dauphin this past weekend.
Officers conducted the stop on a car around 9:30pm to check the registration after noting the front licence plate was obscured. When they approached the vehicle, officers immediately detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of approximately 50 grams of marijuana and approximately 100 gram of cocaine.
26-year-old Garret Robert Lee Spence of Peguis First Nation and 20-year-old Bryan James Staples of Winnipeg, have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and were each remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on January 19, 2010.
This seizure represents 100 individual cocaine dosages on the street.
The investigation continues.
