On April 2, 2010, at about 7:30am, Gypsumville RCMP received a complaint of sexual assault involving an 11-year-old girl.
Investigation revealed that a sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl had taken place in a residence at Lake St. Martin FN in the early morning hours of April 2, 2010.
A 22-year-old male was arrested and has been remanded in custody for a future court appearance. He has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and assault.
The 11-year-old victim was transported to Winnipeg Children’s Hospital for examination.
Gypsumville RCMP as well as the RCMP Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.
There were no reports of any other persons involved and no report of injuries.
