Robbery suspect

Suspect involved in string of robberies.

RCMP are looking to the public for assistance in connection with numerous robberies during January of this year.

On January 18, 2010, at 12:44am, Headingley RCMP Detachment were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Arboc Gas station and Smoke Shop situated on the Trans Canada Highway in Headingley. Three male suspects entered the business at gun point forcing the employees to the floor and made off with tobacco and an undisclosed amount of cash. The males were described as being aboriginal, between 5’7 to 5’9 in height, medium build and brown eyes.

On January 23, 2010, at about 3am, Stonewall RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Red Sun Smoke Shop and Gas Bar located on Highway 236 near Highway 6. It is believed at least four males were involved in the robbery. The suspects entered the business premises wearing disguises and brandishing weapons, including a firearm. Among the property taken were cigarettes, a safe, computer equipment and an undisclosed sum of cash.

In another incident on January 27, 2010, at about 3:30am, Stonewall RCMP responded to an attempted armed robbery at the Red Sun Gas Station and Smoke Shop. The business was open at the time but front door to the premises was locked. Four disguised suspects attended the location and two of the suspects tried to gain entry through the front door to no avail and fled.

On January 29, 2010, at about 10pm, the Red Sun Gas Station and Smoke Shop was once again robbed. Four armed and disguised individuals entered the gas bar. Cash and cigarettes were stolen.

RCMP believe that the attempt and actual robberies at these businesses were committed by the same individuals. In all cases, the suspects fled in stolen pick-up trucks that have been recovered by police.

Police are asking the public if anyone has any information or can identify any of these individuals on these incidents to contact your local police agency, RCMP Detachment, or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
