On April 16, 2010, shortly before 5am, RCMP Swan River Detachment were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 10, 32 kilometres east of Swan River.
RCMP and local EMS attended and found a pick-up truck in the north ditch of Highway 10.
A 26-year-old man from Briggs Spur was found ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced deceased at the Swan Valley Health Center. His 32-year-old common law was also conveyed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
At present, it is believed that the pick-up truck was heading eastbound on Highway 10, when the driver caught the edge of the road, lost control and rolled the truck, landing in the north ditch.
Early indications lead RCMP to believe the male deceased was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The investigation into the collision continues.

The 32-year-old (female) common-law has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, impaired operation of a motor vehicle exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, impaired operation of a motor vehicle exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood causing death.
The accused female has been released by a local magistrate (Staff Justice of the Peace) via a recognizance with conditions, including: “You must not occupy the driver’s seat of any motor vehicle anywhere in Canada”. The accused is to appear in Provincial Court at 10am June 16, 2010 in Swan River, Manitoba.
