On April 28, 2010 just after 12am, a 47-year-old man was arrested after arriving in the community of Norway House by bus from Winnipeg.
Investigation revealed the subject, a resident of Norway House, to be in possession of approximately 3 pounds of marijuana. The man was arrested and charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking are pending. The value again is estimated to be around $25,000.
Earlier in the week, on April 26, Norway House RCMP were conducting a vehicle check stop on PR 373, when an approaching vehicle was observed slowing down. RCMP then observed a bag being thrown from the vehicle window. The bag was located and was found to contain approximately 3 pounds of marijuana. The value was estimated to be around $25,000.
The 4 occupants of the vehicle were arrested at the scene for possession of a controlled substance. Charges are pending under the CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) on 2 men and 2 women, aged 34 to 35 years, all of whom are residents of Norway House.
Police continue to investigate both matters.
