On January 21, 2009 at 3:15 p.m., RCMP Selkirk Detachment were dispatched to a field near Bay Road and Karabin Road in the RM of St Andrews about a mile north of the St. Andrews airport.

RCMP learned that a Cesna 152 belonging to a local training school was forced to land in a field. The two individuals on board the plane (student and flight instructor) were not injured. The plane did not appear to have any damage.

The matter has been referred to the Transportation Safety Board for investigation.
