On May 2, 2010, at about 6am, RCMP Churchill Detachment were called to a local residence where a 53-year-old man was found inside unresponsive.
The death is being treated as a homicide.
The RCMP Churchill Detachment, the RCMP Major Crime Services with members from both Thompson and Winnipeg, the RCMP Forensic Identification Services and additional resources from the RCMP North District were flown in to provide assistance with this investigation.
An autopsy will be performed on the deceased.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
Update: 05/05/10 11:32am
On May 3, 2010, an arrest was made in connection with this matter. The individual was subsequently released unconditionally and no charges have been laid against this individual.
On May 4, 2010, an autopsy on the deceased was performed at the Health Sciences Centre. The cause of death is still pending on the completion and receipt of the toxicology results.
