On May 23, 2010 at approximately 3:24am, Falcon Beach RCMP responded to a head-on collision on the two lane portion of Highway 1, approximately 1 kilometre west of Falcon Beach, Manitoba.
The collision involved a passenger car and an SUV. Investigation has revealed that the driver of the eastbound vehicle crossed the center line into the path of the westbound SUV.
The occupants of the SUV were transported to the hospital in Steinbach with non life threatening injuries.
The jaws of life were required to extricate the driver of the passenger car. The driver, along with the two passengers in the car, were then taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The collision caused a highway closure for approximately three hours.
Alcohol is not a factor in this collision and RCMP continue to investigate.
