On May 22, 2010, around 5:30pm, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP Detachment were called to a Buchanon Avenue home regarding a report of a man with an axe.
Investigators were told that the intoxicated man had been trying to fight other people while in possession of an axe. The suspect was located inside the house and was arrested without incident.
RCMP report that when arrested, the suspect initially gave the officers a fictitious name.
22-year-old Frank Wilfred Chartrand of Dauphin, has been charged with assault with a weapon, personation and breach of probation. Chartrand has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on May 25, 2010.
